A cult favourite tucked away in Sunny Park, the restaurant is dedicated to serving the traditional dishes of Taiwan to Brisbanites. Step inside Glamorous Wok to find bronze-coloured tablecloths, timber clad walls and a bar embellished with low-strung lanterns and modern white tiles.
Laying claim to some of the most impressive and comprehensive Taiwanese food in Brisbane, the chefs cook up everything from traditional stir fries and noodle soups to fried chicken and bubble tea. Owner Kevin opened his restaurant to provide a venue where diners could explore and enjoy the authentic flavours of his home country. Glamorous Wok more than fits the bill with all the classic Taiwanese dishes on offer.
Grab the restaurant’s hefty menu to find options ranging from hot pots, hot plates, deep fried and grilled dishes, as well as seafood, meat, soups, rice and noodle dishes. Standouts include the five spices salty pork, deep fried king oyster mushrooms, golden prawns and vermicelli noodles and sizzling black pepper beef. But it’s their chicken in sanbei sauce, crispy pork hock and deep fried chicken with pepper and salt that prove to be the signature pieces. Glamorous Wok also has an impressive selection of vegetarian dishes like their stir-fried green and black beans, cellophane noodles with spicy beans and bean curd hot plate.
Need to quench your thirst? The restaurant has more than forty different drinks but many visit for their bubble tea with chewy pearls, floral tea and traditional Taiwanese juices like their winter melon and starfruit juice.
