Watermelon and Strawberry Cake Box

What’s one of the best things about summer? All the seasonal fruit! From mangoes to watermelon to peaches and nectarines, it’s a fruity dream during Queensland’s summer. These delicious Cake Boxes from Sunnybank Plaza’s Ying Cha NO.9 celebrate our fave summer fruits. The Cake Box is made with a fluffy and delectable whole egg sponge cake that’s layered with fresh cream and topped with rose sugar syrup, pepita seeds and garnished with either juicy mango or fresh strawberries and watermelon. It’s refreshing and pretty!

Eight Treasure Shaved Ice min

Eight Treasure Shaved Ice

Hugely popular in Taiwan, shaved ice is a dessert you need to try ASAP. Sunnybank’s newbie Sugar Sweet Station serves the shaved ice dessert that’s made with a large mound of ice shavings and topped with sugar syrup and a huge array of different toppings such as taro balls, sago, grass jelly, mango popping, peanuts and condensed milk. Our pick? You can’t go past their Eight Treasure Shaved Ice that’s topped with tapioca pearl, pineapple, red beans, taro mash, mung beans, sweet potato, peanuts and barley. If you think it’s a bit strange thinking of eating red beans and barley as a sweet instead of savoury, then think again – we guarantee you this will be your go-to dessert this summer. It’s practically a whole meal as a dessert, and there’s nothing wrong with that!

Dragon Mango Frappe min

Dragon Mango Frappe

Cool down with a glorious fruity creation from the legends at 5 Degrees. Try one of their brightly coloured drinks like their Dragon Mango frappe, which is made with mango and dragon fruit and we think it’s an absolute winner.

It may not be a dessert, but it’s sweet and icy, so it’s a yes from us. Head to the juice bar to grab other summer essentials like their lychee frappe, avocado pudding smoothie and their ginger ninja juice made with aloe vera.

Sizzling Brownie Cake with ice cream

It sizzles, it’s sweet and even has ice-cream – there’s everything to love about the Chocolate and Almond Brownie from Sunny Park’s Southside Bistro. This sizzling chocolate and almond brownie is served with butterscotch ice cream, macadamia praline and topped with caramel popcorn and chocolate fudge sauce. The dessert is served on a hot plate, so when the fudge sauce is poured the dish steams and bubbles. It’s indulgent and sharing is completely optional!

Matcha Latte Milky Iced Tea

We love matcha – seriously, if we could have matcha powder injected and dusted on everything, we would! So it’s no coincidence that we are obsessed with Chatime’s matcha latte milky iced tea. And the best part?

You can order it frozen for summer! Mmm, so green. So delicious!
