Bringing a depth and difference to Brisbane’s burger scene, MOS Burger delivers American-style burgers with a Japanese twist at it’s Sunnybank location, their first Australian store.
Hailing all the way from Japan, the crew at MOS Burger serves its much-loved chow to those seeking an exciting food experience. Think wagyu and wasabi blended with cheese and sautéed onions – delish! Founded in 1972, MOS Burger (the name stands for mountain, ocean and sun) is now Japan’s second-biggest burger chain. Burger lovers relish in the amalgamation of traditional Japanese and contemporary western flavours.
Infusing quality ingredients with distinctly different styles of burgers, MOS Burger is famous equally for its secret sauces as its delectable burger fillings. This is fusion done properly. Feast your greedy chops on their chicken teriyaki burger made with chicken thigh that has been grilled directly over a flame and basted in a soy sauce marinade. The result? A very juicy and tender burger worth getting your hands around.
MOS Burger is well known for its juicy wagyu patties, which are made using Australian wagyu beef. Our favourite? Their Gourmet Wagyu Cheeseburger has garnered cult status with its juicy wagyu patty, sautéed onions, fresh tomato, cheddar cheese and baby cos lettuce, which is topped with mayo, ketchup, teriyaki sauce and wasabi.
The burger joint also creates sushi burgers, which use grilled rice and quinoa buns that replace the traditional bread roll. Inspired by yaki onigiri (Japanese grilled rice balls), the sushi burgers are stuffed with fillings like seafood tempura, bbq beef or smoked salmon and avocado. For something really different, try their low carb Green Burgers, which uses fresh lettuce wraps instead of the bread bun. Or try their Tomami burger, which uses tomato slices as buns; we think it’s worth a try, even just for the novelty factor.
And what about sides, you ask? There’s crunchy wedges, loaded chips with sour cream and sweet chilli, calamari rings, chicken nuggets, green salads and Japanese-style veggie croquettes. Wash it all down with MOS Burger’s iced green tea matcha latte, iced long black or their cranberry iced tea.
